One of the things I was most excited about for my wedding was getting my mehndi done. But I didn’t really put much thought into who I was going to hire, let alone think twice about what kind of design I was going to get. I mean, what is there to it really? Just throw some symmetrical designs and flowers on there and that’s it, right?

Hey, maybe you’re like me circa 2016 and paying too much attention to your mehndi design is just another layer of stress added to your plate. But to be honest, I had no idea that there were henna artists out there who are as talented and creative as the 7 that are listed below.

And if you’re going to get adorned with original artwork on your body for your wedding day, you may as well turn to the greats to get ideas on what your mehndi could look like. Or, if you’re really lucky, work with them outright.

Whatever your end goal, it’s worth taking a look at some of the artists that’ll are sure to inspire your bridal mehndi design.

Henna by Divya

Henna by Divya is one of the most popular and well known mehndi artists on the internet. If you’ve seen her work you know that she can do it ALL, from traditional design work to adding in personal touches.

KM Henna Artistry

Texas-based artist Kiran may be taking some time off from doing henna, but you can still turn to her Instagram page to get inspired by her insane talent.

Henna House Canada

Each design by Angela is more jaw dropping than the last. And don’t forget about her clutch tip on protecting your drying henna before peeling it off in one fell swoop: hypafix!

Henna Lounge

Artist Darcy is crazy talented when it comes to just about everything – from her henna artwork to her IG grid (talk about eye candy) to her outlook on life, her whole vibe is beautiful and restorative. You can even purchase her high quality and freshly made henna to use on yourself.

Alisa Parveen

Alisa Parveen is so talented that even her minimal designs are breathtaking. Working with her is probably a shot in the dark since she’s based in Australia, but thanks to social media you’re only a click away from getting inspired by her work.

Mehndika Joey Henna

Looking at the designs on Joey Anderson’s page shows you that there really is no limit to the variety of designs an artist can create.

Unless you’re planning a destination wedding in northern Italy where she resides, you probably won’t be able to see her work her magic in person, but her IG page is absolutely worth scrolling through if you’re searching for designs that are inventive and modern.

Neeta Desai Sharma

I’m bringing it back a little closer to home with California-based artist, Neeta. With 31 years of experience, it’s not surprising to see that she can do literally any kind of design that you can think of.

From a modern twist on traditional designs like the one below to integrating custom and personalized artwork (did you spot the Jasmine and Aladdin on her IG page?), she has no shortage of designs to inspire your own.
