Vesic Photography is a North Carolina based wedding photography company. Serving Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC Beaches & Mountains, Washington DC/Baltimore and Destination Weddings throughout the country and abroad including France, Italy, India and more.

My name is Hooman and photography has always been a large part of my life. I built my first camera in my hometown of Winston-Salem, NC, with my dad when I was eight years old. That first camera is what taught me about composition, light and timing.

My first SLR camera was a used Nikon which I received as a high school graduation present. I took it with me to Wake Forest University; and as I got my degree in Physics, I found myself taking photos of everything from university events to landscapes in Hawaii. After college, while working as a corporate pilot, I continued developing my skills as a photographer by taking photos of bands throughout North Carolina and then in 2005 I was asked to photograph a wedding.

Wedding photography combined what I had been photographing my whole life: Portraits, photojournalism of events, landscape, music, and capturing the most important and elusive element of any good photo: emotion.

I was hooked from that first wedding and transitioned from a career as a pilot to a career as a photographer. I still fly for pleasure, but photography is now my full time passion. I photograph around 40-45 weddings a year and totally love it!

I live in Winston-Salem, NC with my awesome wife Debbie and routinely cover weddings all over North Carolina, Washington DC, Baltimore, San Francisco, New York; and as far as ItalyParis, and India.

I also do portrait photography for couples and families; and a regular contributor to Huffington Post Weddings. In addition, I’m a multiple award winning member of WPJA(Wedding Photojournalist Association) & ISPWP (International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers), Fearless Photographers & the PPA (Professional Photographers of America).

Q Style

Can you tell me more about a “First Look” and seeing my fiance before the ceremony?

First Looks are a great idea and becoming very popular! Click here to read more and see some photos from several first looks.

We love the non-posed, photojournalist style, but we still would like to have a few traditional, formal group photos taken. Do you do this?

Absolutely! While the majority of your wedding day coverage is non posed, non directed, and hands off, I always spend some time (usually after the ceremony, or sometimes before) taking traditional formal group photos with the family. I keep this portion short and relaxed so parents and relatives can get to the cocktail to entertain guests while we spend some time getting great photos of just the two of you before rejoining the guests.

Q Location

We live in another state, so an in-person consultation is not really possible. What do you recommend?

Many of the couples I photograph live in other cities and states, and I am accustomed to working with them over the phone. With my experience in a variety of wedding styles and locations, it’s easy to talk with you about packages, timelines, and any questions you might have about the photography and the wedding in general. Booking your event, including contract signing and deposit payments, are all easily completed online.

My wedding is not in North Carolina. Do you travel?

I travel quite a bit for weddings coverage and love traveling for weddings. I regularly visit the DC/Baltimore area, and have shot weddings as far as Paris, California, Colorado, New York and more.

Q Planning

How far in advance should I consider booking you for my wedding?

I shoot around 40-45 weddings per year, and on average, most couples book about 8-12 months in advance. That being said, if you’re planning last minute, you should still inquire. There can be openings for later bookings even in the most popular months. Photography services are secured with a retainer and contract signing.
