I did little to zero planning for my mehndi event. Décor. Music. Photos. Everything was scheduled and executed at the last minute.

That little to zero planning also extended to my mehndi outfit. Thankfully, my mom had a beautiful orange raw silk lehenga laid out for me which I happily put on when my mehndi had dried.

My grave mistake? Thinking that my mehndi had dried. Which is how that beautiful orange raw silk lehenga got a tiny brown sh* looking stain on the side of it from the mehndi on my legs. 🤦🏾‍♀️

The thing about mehndi is that once it stains, it’s not comin’ out. Yes, I have reworn that lehenga since. And yes, I own my sh* looking mehndi stain loud and proud.

But you don’t have to! Because thankfully, midi lehengas exist. And they are the ideal solution to our mehndi outfit woes. Just put on a pair of comfy, breathable bike shorts underneath (let’s keep it G, people. Okay, PG), and you’re good to go!
